While living in the desert, we had shrubs lining the walkway to our front door. One night I turned on the irrigation system to water them because they were thirsty. I went to bed. I woke up the next morning and in the quietness of the house heard water trickling. I opened the front door to see the landscaping beds holding a couple of inches of water. We had a big water bill, but those shrubs came alive. They had a different shade of green and the leaves were softer. They went from surviving to thriving!

Our lives can be the same way. We experience seasons where we are just trying to make it through another day. Surviving. But when God shows up, everything changes. Thriving happens!
